Hi everyone! Welcome to my first News Roundup in a while, where today I have a semi final match report and an interesting transfer. Enjoy!
Manchester City Reach First Final Under Guardiola
Man City have reached their first final under manager Pep Guardiola with a victory in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi final against Bristol City at Ashton Gate. They came from behind in the first leg to win 2-1 so the hosts needed to win. However, the Blues took lead forty minutes into the first half when Bernardo Silva outstrengthed Magnussen and passed it to Leroy Sane who calmly swept it into the net. Four minutes into the second half Sergio Aguero sealed the tie when he expertly finished Kevin de Bruyne’s through ball. Fifteen minutes later Marlon Pack headed the hosts back into it and in the 4th minute of 5 in added time Aden Flint tapped the ball into an open net to earn a draw on the night. However, the Citizens went up the other end and de Bruyne scored with the last kick of the game to make it 3-2 to the visitors and 5-3 to them on aggregate. City will play the winner of Arsenal v Chelsea tonight(it is 0-0 on aggregate).
Lennon Signs For Burnley
Burnley have signed thirty year old winger Aaron Lennon from Everton for an undisclosed fee. Along with the loan signing of Georges-Kevin Nkoudou from Tottenham, Lennon will add some much needed pace to a sometimes dry style of play that the Clarets have adopted. When talking about the move, the former Tottenham player said he has “still got a lot to offer” and I would agree with him.
