Wednesday 24th January News Roundup

Hi guys! Today I have a match report from the second semi final in the Carabao Cup and also a badge change shambles for you. Enjoy!

Arsenal Beat Chelsea To Reach Carabao Cup Final

Arsenal defeated Chelsea 2-1 in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi final at the Emirates. The first leg at Stamford Bridge ended 0-0. After only seven minutes Pedro played Eden Hazard through on goal and the Belgian was as cool as you like to give the Blues the lead. However, four minutes later Nacho Monreal headed a corner against Marcos Alonso and then Antonio Rudiger, before it somehow found itself in the net to equalise. Possibly the luckiest goal I have ever seen. On the hour mark, Alexandre Lacazette dribbled to the byline, from where he passed it across goal to Granit Xhaka who toe-poked the ball past Willy Caballero to win it for the Gunners. Arsenal will play Manchester City in the final at Wembley on 25 February.

Leeds Change Club Badge- Then Backtrack

Leeds United announced at 12pm yesterday that they would be changing their badge. The crest depicts the ‘Leeds salute’ which is supposed to be the club’s identity. Leeds said that the badge took 10,000 people and 6 months to design. However, it received criticism from almost everyone and only six hours later their managing director said they will take another look at it. Personally I think it looks ridiculous and doesn’t identify with Leeds at all. It was planned to be changed, and will still be I think(to a different design, mind) because this year is the club’s 100th anniversary.

Some people say that they have changed the badge to this one with the elbow as they plan to sign Marouane Fellaini… maybe they will put his head on the neck too?
